Job Description
Successful applicants hired by our clients will be expected to perform the following responsibilities at their facility.
You need to have the basic skill of driving forklifts. If you have knowledge of operating other storage and removal vehicles, that will be a huge plus. This task will form an essential part of your daily roles on-site.
You will be expected to prepare products and materials for shipment. This task may involve multiple processes such as bringing out the items from storage, sorting them out, arranging them in stacks at a designated point, including packaging them for shipment.
With the use of forklifts and other heavy-duty vehicles, you will be asked to unload items from trucks bringing items into the facility. You will also be required to load them into their appropriate sections in the storage unit. In addition, items already prepped for shipping will have to be loaded into containers as at when due. This responsibility will be delegated to you when necessary.
From time to time, your supervisors and head of the department will assign you the task of tracking down materials and items in their appropriate sections. You may also be required to record the number of items you stack per section.
The existing protocols of the facility in which you work will have to be adhered to at all times as long as you are onsite.
Qualifications
Only forklift and heavy-duty drivers with the right certification and at least 6 months of work experience may apply. Other qualification requirements are as follows.
You must be experienced in the art of handling Forklifts and other heavy-duty warehouse and logistics equipment. The more equipment you can handle, the better your chances.
The ability to work for long hours in the facility is crucial. Sorting, tracking, and transporting materials from one section of the facility to another takes a long time, so you must be comfortable with the idea of working for long periods.
Working in a storage, shipping, or production facility exposes you to pressure. Therefore, you must be prepared to work under pressure and handle simultaneous responsibilities as they come up.
